Elizabeth Amezcua, MS
Director, Health Education Outreach
I joined Claremont University Consortium as the director of Health Education Outreach in March 2012. I received my B.S. in exercise science from Sacred Heart University, Connecticut where was also a part of the Division I Women’s Rowing team. In 2011, I completed my M.S. in exercise physiology and began my career as a health educator at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Since serving as CUC’s director of Health Education Outreach, I have started and established a peer health educator program, training and programs on sexual health, alcohol, nutrition, mental health and more; and revamped the office to be a safe and inviting space for students. I enjoy international travel, the outdoors and a tasty cup of frozen yogurt.
Health Educator, Health Education Outreach
Hello all! I graduated from Scripps in 2015 with a B.A. in Public Health and Society (a major I self-designed), having worked at HEO for all four years of undergrad. I was also involved in Scripps Advocates for Survivors of Sexual Assault, Challah for Hunger, and the Scripps Student Art Collective. I am a licensed HIV Testing Counselor through LA County Department of Public Health and have been conducting weekly HIV testing on campus for around four years. My passion is talking with students about what “health and wellness” means to them, and empowering and supporting them in their journey of being their best selves. In my spare time, you can find me reading, hiking, gardening, and hanging out with my adopted dachshund Basil.
