The CUC SARS Update is designed to provide information to students, faculty,
staff and visitors to The Claremont Colleges regarding our response protocols
and to give you important guidance if you have concerns regarding this
disease.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World
Health Organization (WHO) have issued health alerts for Severe Acute Respiratory
Syndrome (SARS).

The new disease has been linked to travel in China, Hong Kong, Toronto
- Canada or Taiwan.
Symptoms include fever (>100.4° F), cough, shortness of breath
or difficulty breathing.
Travelers to or from the above areas who experience symptoms within 10
days of their travel should seek an immediate medical evaluation. Health
care providers should be notified in advance if an individual seeking
medical attention suspects that he/she may be developing SARS.
