Work Control has two
primary functions; handling work requests and providing customer service.
Work Control serves as the "single point of contact" for Central Facilities Services with our clients in the campus community. Using a custom online work order system, work requests can be created, evaluated and sent to the appropriate shop(s) for completion.
Work
requests identify the scope of work and track labor, material and other
associated costs. This information can be viewed online. Work
Control processes over 15,000 work requests annually. Almost 40% of these
(6,000) are for preventative maintenance work throughout the Colleges and are
generated automatically. Work requests can be prioritized as follows:
PRIORITY 1: Emergency - Response in one hour or less. Overtime automatically authorized.
PRIORITY 2: Urgent - Same day response or within 24 hours from the time submitted. Overtime authorized at supervisors' discretion
PRIORITY 3: Dated - Complete work by specified time, from next day to 3 weeks from work request issue date.
PRIORITY 4: Routine/Scheduled - Complete work as scheduled or planned with interruptions only for higher priority work.
