Function Keys

Recall - Terminates a call and establishes a new dial tone in one step.

Conf. - This key is used to establish a three-way conference call.  Press the "Speaker" key and dial a campus extension.  Next, press the "Transfer" key and dial a second campus extension.  When the second party agrees to the conference, press the "CONF" key to establish the three way conference call.  When including an off campus party with an on campus party, dial the campus extension first, followed by the off campus number.

Redial - Press the "Redial" key to scroll back through the previous five numbers dialed.  When the desired number displays in the display screen, press the "*" key to dial the number.  Only the previous five numbers dialed will be displayed.

Speaker - Press the "Speaker" key for dial tone and for "listen only" situations such as reviewing voice mail messages.  Pressing only the "Speaker" key does not convert the phone into the "hands-free" mode.  Please refer to the "Hands-free" instructions when you do not want to use your hand-set.

Answer - If a call originating off campus is on hold for you at our switchboard, the light will be lit on the "Answer" key.  Press the "Answer" key to answer the waiting call, the original party will be put on hold.  Press the "Answer" key to go back to the original caller.

Hold - To place a caller on hold, press the "Hold" key. If the "Hold" key is pressed twice, the call may only be picked-up from the phone where it was placed on hold.  Pressing the "Hold" key twice establishes an "Executive Hold".  The call can not be picked-up from another phone even if it has the same extension.

Help - Receive information on a function that is flashing on the display screen by pressing the "Help" key, then pressing the "soft" key beneath the function in question.  Press the "Exit" key to cancel.
