PRE‐DOCTORAL CAPIC INTERNSHIPS and POST‐DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS

Post‐Doctoral Positions:

Each year, Monsour Counseling and Psychological Services (MCAPS) trains two full‐time (40 hours/week) post‐doctoral therapists. These positions are 9.5 months in duration (beginning of August through mid‐May). These positions include a $25,000 stipend, as well as eligibility for medical, dental, life insurance, and retirement benefits. Four weeks of leave time is scheduled over winter break. Reimbursement and release time for professional development may be available, upon approval. The full‐time post‐doctoral experience is structured such that it meets all requirements for the 1500 hours of post‐doctoral Supervised Professional Experience (SPE) necessary for licensure in California. Note that it is the post‐doctoral candidate’s responsibility to determine whether this placement will meet the requirements for licensure in other states, as some states require more than 1500 hours of SPE and may have additional regulations regarding these hours.

CAPIC Pre‐Doctoral Internship Positions:

Each year, MCAPS also trains two part‐time (24 hours/week) CAPIC pre‐doctoral interns. These positions are 9 months in duration (mid‐August through mid‐May). These positions include a $2000 stipend. Four weeks of leave time is scheduled over winter break. Reimbursement and release time for professional development may be available, upon approval. Further information and online application can be found on the CAPIC WEB site.

Essential Functions:

We are looking for competent clinicians who would like to join a dynamic staff who are passionate about the services they provide to students.

Pre‐doctoral interns and post‐doctoral therapists are provided with 2 hours per week of individual supervision (provided by licensed senior staff members), 2 hours per week of group supervision, and 1 hour per week of multicultural and clinical didactic training seminars. In addition, post‐doctoral therapists participate in evening and weekend on‐call duties, with back‐up supervision provided by licensed senior staff members.
