CUC and CINE Wireless Access
Internet access from a laptop is only available to students, faculty, and staff of the Claremont Colleges. Using your laptop in the Libraries implies that you agree to abide by the guidelines for appropriate use.
Instructions for wireless access
- Anyone can access local resources such as the Blais catalog and the Libraries' and Colleges' web pages via the CINE network.
- Full wireless internet access is available for all students, faculty, and staff of the Claremont Colleges who have registered to use the CINE network. Note that some of the campuses (e.g. CGU, CMC & KGI) have their own wireless networks and that use of CINE requires separate registration.
- To register for wireless internet access through CINE please contact or visit your
home college IT department (usually takes a day or two):
- Claremont Graduate University: contact helpdesk
- Claremont McKenna: contact helpdesk
- Harvey Mudd
- Keck Graduate Institute: contact Daniel Zuvala: 607-0390
- Pitzer
- Pomona
- Scripps
Once you are registered, your computer should detect an open network named CINE from most places in the library. This is the Claremont Colleges wireless network.
If you have a Windows PC, your computer should provide you with instructions to connect to a nearby wireless network. You can follow the instructions to connect to CINE.
If you have a Mac and your laptop doesn't automatically connect (or ask you to connect) to the CINE network, then click on the Wireless icon in the right part of the toolbar at the top of the screen (it should look like a slice of pizza, but white). You should see a list of networks there and CINE should be one of the options. Click on CINE and your computer should connect you to the network.
