Chicano Latino Student Affairs
Naddia Palacios, Assistant Dean of Students
I’m originally from Lima, Peru and once in the U.S, I grew up mainly in the Santa Clarita Valley. I received my undergraduate degree in Latin America Studies from San Diego State University (SDSU) and my M.Ed in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs from the University of Southern California (USC).
As a student at SDSU I worked at the Cross-Cultural Center, was a member of the San Diego UFW Support Committee, the Chicano Park Steering Committee, the Association of Chicana Activist and MEChA. It was through my involvement and commitment to those organizations and center that I found my way to Student Affairs and my passion about working with the Latino/a community surged.
While at USC, I was the program assistant for the Center for Women and Men and after graduating I became the Interim Assistant Director for the Caltech Women’s Center. Before coming to work for CLSA, I worked at Occidental College as their Associate Director for Intercultural Affairs, where I designed programs around issues of social justice and diversity.
I look forward to working with the unique structure of the Claremont Colleges and I hope I see you in future programs or events that we host as an office.
