Vision
The
Vision of the Chicano/Latino Student Affairs Center is to be
a key support
component in the quest for all Latino students at the
Claremont Colleges to
achieve academic success and graduation.
The
Chicano/Latino Student Affairs Center (CLSA) is dedicated to
helping students attain
their academic, personal and professional goals. This is
accomplished by providing support services and
programs that
are designed to complement and strengthen the
existing resources at
the five undergraduate Claremont
Colleges. Academic, social and
cultural events which foster
personal growth and multicultural
awareness are provided
throughout the academic year. These support services are
critical in helping students to feel a sense of familia
within the Chicano/Latino student community, as well as a
sense of community within the larger college population.
These services include Sponsors (peer mentors) for all
first-year, transfer and New Resources students, New Student
Luncheons, our annual New Student Retreat, academic
advising, a tutorial program, our Resource Center, and an
informational newsletter, among other things.
