Hugo Garcia
Coordinator of
Student Programs
My
name is Hugo Garcia and I am the
Coordinator for
Student Programs here
at CLSA. I would like to take
this
opportunity to provide some additional
background
information about myself.
I was born in Tijuana,
Baja California,
Mexico and raised in San Diego.
I earned
my B.A. in Political Science/International
Relations from the University of California, San Diego
(UCSD). Soon after
graduating from UCSD I completed
my Masters degree in Higher Education
and Student Affairs at the University of Southern California (USC). While at
USC, I worked on several research projects at
the Rossier School of
Education. My research experience propelled me to enroll at Claremont
Graduate University (CGU) to pursue my Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis
in Higher Education.
In addition to my education at
CGU, I have worked within the Claremont Colleges for the past three years.
For example, prior to my position here at CLSA, I worked at both Scripps
College as the Coordinator for New Student Programs and Orientation
for the
past two years and at Pomona College as the Graduate Assistant for
Late
Night Programming.
In my spare time I love to hang
out with my family, play basketball and tennis,
and camp at various national and state parks.
I am thrilled to be here. So
please feel free to stop by my office to introduce yourself. I love meeting
students and discussing their academic and personal goals.
