Rene Yang

Director of Asia Relationships

Rene Yang has served as the Director for Asia Relationships for Claremont University Consortium (CUC) since September 1, 2011. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Yang was the director of Information Services of the Claremont University Consortium starting September 1, 2001.

Mr. Yang has over twenty years of professional experience in Information Technology, as well as building relationships in Asian communities prior to joining CUC. He earned his MS in Information Management from Central Michigan University and BS in Accounting from Brigham Young University in Hawaii. In the early 1980s, Mr. Yang established and ran two English schools in Asia which were later purchased by a local investment group.

In 1983, Yang lectured in his first China universities exchange program. He has guest lectured at Jilin University, Shanghai First Medical University, China Central Normal University, Shenyang Normal University, and Dailian Foreign Language Institute.

Yang has hosted numerous dignitary delegations from China including Premier Zhao Ziyang’s delegation, Premier Li Lanqing’s delegation, and Premier Zou Jiahua’s delegation.

Mr. Yang has co-authored several commercialized software systems including LIARS (Library Information Access and Retrieval System) and FunGen (Fund Accounting General Ledger System).
